Kate Thomas

Kate is an experienced HR professional who specialises in working with successful, fast-growing businesses, helping them put the right foundations in place so they can scale with confidence. She takes time to understand how each organisation really works and builds strong, trusted relationships, making HR feel practical and easy to engage with. Her focus is on putting in place clear structures and ways of working that support growth without overcomplicating things.

She has particular experience in HRIS implementation, working with growing organisations to introduce and embed systems such as ELMO. Kate is hands-on in her approach and focuses on what will actually work day to day, making sure systems are set up in a way that feels straightforward and properly supports the business. She also leads Emphasis’s work around AI and GDPR, helping clients make sense of new technology in a way that is grounded, proportionate and commercially realistic.

Alongside this, Kate has broad experience across organisational change, including restructures, redundancy programmes and TUPE transfers. She is known for bringing clarity to more complex or pressured situations and helping clients feel confident about the decisions they are making. As a certified Insights Discovery facilitator, she runs engaging sessions that give teams a shared language they continue to use.
